Colorado Chapter Lean Tool Gathering:

"A Case Study: The Lean Journey at Boulder Associates"

For the new Sutter Health / California Pacific Medical Center Van Ness Medical Office Building in downtown San Francisco, directly across from the Cathedral Hill Hospital, practicing Lean was both a project contract requirement and a great new opportunity to develop the tools we use in-house at Boulder Associates.  Stacey will describe the process of designing an MOB using Integrated Project Delivery, BIM, Target Value Design and Last Planner -- and also report on successes and lessons learned along the way.  This presentation aims to bridge the gap between Lean theory and real practices in the industry, and how Lean construction ideas can be adapted to the design setting.

Stacey Root, AIA

Stacey is an Architect with Boulder Associates Architects, Inc. in Boulder, Colorado.  She completed her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Texas and is a LEED AP. She joined Boulder Associates in 2007 and is a designated in-house Lean evangelist.  She watches far too much college football and would give anything for a good plate of cheese enchiladas or a long weekend backpack trip in the mountains.
